Life expectancy gap between rich and poor widens in UK to up to 13.5 years
An article in Medical News Today suggests that a boy from the affluent Kensington and Chelsea areas of London can expect to live 13.5 years longer than his counterpart in Glasgow.
This is according to a new report issued by the Office for National Statistics.
The authors add that overall people in the UK are living longer - a male's life expectancy at birth is now 78.2 years; for a female it is 82.3 years.
